Puno: opened a large crack on the ground in southern Peru

The sudden appearance in the first morning of a huge crack that measure 100 meters wide and three kilometers long, has caused confusion among the residents of the district in the province of Huacullani Chucuito, department of Puno. ;

The real cause of the crack in the mainland is unknown. The Geophysical Institute of Peru exclude that there might be an earthquake in the region, but what is clear is that the ground is open and large blocks of land can be seen scattered throughout the area. The event, recorded Wednesday morning, caused the collapse of a house located in the rural community of Llorohoco. Four people managed to escape, but the youngest of the family, of five years, Jean Carlos Vilcanqui Maple, is lost. Engineers Geological Committee of the Regional Civil Protection arrived in the area to investigate the phenomenon and determine its causes, said Javier Pampamallco, the head of civil protection of Puno.
